UVA/UVB


It is understood that many products in the market don’t provide great protection against UVA rays which are the cause of premature aging, skin spots and possibly skin cancer.

The SPF number is an indication of protection against UVB rays which are the burning rays and skin cancer.

Many brands only protect 20% – 30% against UVA rays whereas Zinc Oxide based products will give you near maximum protection against UVA and UVB rays at the same time.

UNDERSTANDING SPF


All or products are SPF 30+. This is regulatory in Australia that a company cannot market their sunscreen product as more than SPF 30. This is because if you look at the graph to the right, you will see that the difference after SPF 30 is miniscule meaning that the chance of sunburn using an SPF 30 sunscreen and a SPF 50 or SPF 80 sunscreen is nearly the same.
